We Got You Through Disaster Corporation (WGYTD) was founded on November 12, 2025, as a nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status pending. The organization emerged in response to Hurricane Melissa—a category 5 storm that struck Black River, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, on October 28, 2025, causing severe devastation. Its founder, Donavan Thomas, originally from Black River, decided to establish WGYTD after hearing firsthand from family and friends about the damage inflicted on his community. Recognizing an urgent need for aid, Donavan is committed to supporting Black River's recovery.


WGYTD plans to use lessons learned from the Black River experience to support other regions and communities affected by natural disasters.

 WGYTD relies on financial contributions to deliver its services to those in need. Please make a minimum donation of $50 to help us provide needed support to families affected by natural disasters. Thank you for your support!
